The Greene County Fishing Club has been working on fishing skills. On Tuesday, Oct. 17, the club went to Jeff Kienast’s pond to fish. Nearly every student caught a fish.
Teacher sponsors of the fishing club are Spencer Bauer and Derek Merk. They and the students thanked Kienast for his time and hospitality.
Most students in the middle school are all involved in a special interest club and time is allowed in the weekly schedule for club meetings. The clubs allow students to expand their knowledge in an area of their choosing, and to spend time with students not in their own grade.
Middle school principal Shawn Zanders has explained to the board of education previously that the clubs build social skills and a more positive attitude toward school.
